Västra Götalandsregionen chooses AST Medical for extensive surgical textiles agreement
Västra Götalandsregionen in Sweden has selected AST Medical as a supplier of surgical textiles under a two-year agreement covering 66 product references and an estimated annual volume of more than 1.5 million units.
The agreement encompasses a broad range of products used in operating theatres, including surgical caps, SMS surgical gowns, protective gowns, clean air suits, warming jackets and hooded coveralls.
The range also includes sterile surgical drapes, gauze compresses and swabs with X-ray detectable threads, tubular stockinettes, protective covers for C-arms, ultrasound probes and cameras, sampling underpads and positioning straps.
With products available in different sizes, designs and configurations, the agreement supports a wide range of surgical procedures and clinical requirements, from protective clothing and sterile field management to equipment protection.
The agreement takes effect on 1 June 2026 and runs until 31 May 2028, representing an estimated total volume of more than 3 million units over the contract period.
